Some quotes from conference I don't want to forget!

Here are some of the quotes from this past weekend that spoke the most to me:
Soon I will show you what went on in our home while we were watching it.  :)

Elaine S. Dalton:
Speaking to fathers of daughters: "Be an active part in her life. And if in her teenage years she should not come home from a date on time, go get her. She will resist and tell you that you've ruined her social life, but she will inwardly know that you love her and that you care enough to be her guardian."
Just had to show her 3 new granddaughters!

Elder Robert D. Hales:
"Every one of us is more beloved to the Lord than we can possibly understand or imagine. Let us therefore be kinder to one another and kinder toward ourselves."

Neal L Anderson:
He was quoting President Monson, “If you are concerned about providing financially for a wife and family, there is no shame in a couple having to scrimp and save. It is generally during these challenging times that you will grow closer together as you learn to sacrifice and to make difficult decisions.”
Go here to watch his talk in full.

Ian Aldern:
"Giving our time in the service of others is pleasing to God and...such will draw us nearer to Him... Place the Lord and our families at the top of the list."

Elder Tad R. Callister:
"That is the genius of the Book of Mormon-there is no middle ground. It is either the word of God as professed, or it is a total fraud. This book does not merely claim to be a moral treatise, or commentary, or collection of insightful writings. It claims to be the word of God--every sentence, every verse, every page."

Quentin L. Cook:
"We should be grateful for the all the tender mercies that come into our lives. We are unaware of a host of blessings that we receive from day to day."

Elder Robert D. Hales:
"Waiting upon the Lord (as in waiting for answers to prayers) gives us a priceless opportunity to discover that there are many who wait upon us. Our children wait upon us to show patience, love, and understanding toward them. Our parents wait upon us to show gratitude and compassion. Our brothers and sisters wait upon us to be tolerant, merciful, and forgiving. Our spouses wait upon us to love them as the Savior has loved each one of us."

President Monson:
Behaviors which once were considered inappropriate and immoral are now not only tolerated but also viewed by ever so many as acceptable. The laws of God remain constant. They have not changed; they will not change. The 10 commandments are just that; commandments. They are not suggestions. They are every bit as requisite today, as they were when God gave them to the children of Israel."

I too liked the 25cent piece of chicken story...I also liked the talk from the Father that took his two kids hiking...All the talks were wonderful and inspiring...I can't wait to watch them again, one at a time for our FHE. Gives us time to discuss them and really take it all in...thanks for sharing your thoughts with us and I can't wait to hear "the rest of the story"!

I loved all of these quotes! I also loved the story Carl B. Cook told of Pres. Monson in the elevator when Elder Cook was feeling burdened and overwhelmed with his new calling and was looking down when Pres. Monson got in the elevator. Pres. Monson told him to always look up (to Heavenly Father). What great advice! Thanks for sharing some of the quotes you liked.

We loved conference! I feel so humbled by the GREAT BLESSING it is to be led by a prophet in these latter days. To truly believe this. To have a testimony of the Book of Mormon. Overwhelmed with gratefulness. Love, Dad and Susan

These are all such great quotes. I always come away from your blog with a good feeling and/or in awe. It's wonderful!

And I can't wait to read about what went on at your home!

You asked on my blog about Disney, we will be leaving on Wednesday (Oct. 12) and we'll be driving. I think it will prove to be very interesting with a two-week old along for the ride!

Love and Prayers,
Eileen

You take excellent notes! I'm always so amazed how grateful & empowered I feel after Conference is over. It's weird how we can continually be expanded & enlightened every single time. LOVE IT! Thanks for the notes too because I never remember so I love seeing the recap & what you took away.

Look what happened last night

Just a little pre-graduating gathering for our DIL Amy.... Not everyday a Mom of 7 and a Grandma of 7, graduates from college. It was not ...
