Halloween 26 years ago

Life sure has changed since that evening back in 1985.
Simpler times back then, although it didn't seem like it at the time.

I thought my sons might like to hear their Dad's voice again.

Hearing your first husband's voice made me want to go back and read the post where you related all of the feelings and events leading up to his death. Now that I know you so much better than I did at the time, it moved me even more than it did the first time I read it.

I think you are wonderful, Jill. And I love that you posted this video so your kids could be reminded of their dad's voice.

Thanks for letting us hear him, too.

=)

Awww... what a sweet memory. I love how you skillfully distracted McKay with a fruit bar when he wanted that lollipop. And your older boys were so sweet!

Ann~ That was back in the day where the large camera was on a tri pod with a very large bright light standing to the side of it. It was quite the production. And even though it was 26 years ago, it was far more expensive than what cameras are now.

I loved this video!!! My favorite posts are the ones with the home videos! I love getting to see the whole family when they were younger, especially McKay! He was so sweet, I can't wait until Grant is running around and talking. And I loved seeing Brock and Logan. Something about when Brock is talking about everyones ages and the year, the newscasting part :), reminds me so much of Elora. And you were so cute pregnant!

This video is awesome! I agree with McKenna—home videos are the best. McKay hasn't changed a bit.

Some of your boys sound very much like their father. When he spoke on the video I could recognize it. Great post. Loved the costumes. Love, Dad and Susan

So fun to watch! I cracked up when Brock said, "Since I'm the only one broadcasting the news around here...." ha, ha! So funny! Loved watching the boys when they were little!

I too, loved hearing your first husband's voice. That is such a neat video. I love to see the old ones. I'm sure you do too, to see your darling children when they were so young.

When our kids were young, we didn't have video, but we had a movie camera, 8 mil. and we were taking movies every time they turned around. I so loved them all. We had them stored in a box, reel after reel and when we sold our house, we moved everything out of the house but a few boxes that we were going to pick up the next day. The reels were in one, lots of letters from my mom who had died, and all of her Christmas ornaments in another, including a skirt she had made to go around the tree. The woman who bought our house wasn't even to get possession until the following week and I still don't know how she got into our house, but she took all our stuff to the Salvation Army and threw away the reels of movies we had. The garbage man came long before we did the next day so there was no way to get them back. We went to Salvation Army but all our stuff was gone except for my moms silverware which we did get back. I can't even begin to tell how how I have grieved over the years at the loss of all those movies, but I am sure you can understand.

The home video posts are my favorite too! I love getting to see what your family was like when the boys were younger.

When I first heard Bill's voice, I could definitely tell that he was Tyler's father. I felt like I definitely heard all of your boys in his voice.
