The uncommon joy of wisdom teeth extraction

Whoever said getting your wisdom teeth out was not a fun experience?
Our grandson Austin proved this wrong 5 days ago.
None of my sons had quite this reaction to the 'coming out from the going under.'
We all have our own way of doing things, right?

I must add though, that apparently the party is over now because Austin has developed dry socket.
That is SO painful. Poor Austin.

Earlier this month, while he still had all his teeth,
Austin and his brother Chandler climbed Mt Whitney!
Does that sign say over 14,000 feet?!
Takes my breath away just thinking about it.

The picture below about does me in as a Mom and Grandma.

Good thing Austin and Chandler like each other!

Two big adventures in one month!! Love the video clip. I had some funny times with my kids coming out of the anesthesia also. Nick developed dry socket and that was not fun! That climb that the boys went on looks like a lot of fun though.

Great pics of Mt. Whitney trip!

And I'm so sorry that your once laughing boy now has a dry socket. Ryan got that, too, and it was sooooo not fun.

My boyfriend had his wisdom teeth out - the weekend before he had to move out of the house he was renting. Great timing, right?

When he came out of surgery, he was very funny and very cute. He kept puckering up his lips for kisses from me. Only problem? The fresh and dried blood on his lips. Ew.

So sorry Austin has developed dry socket!!! Hope he feels better, soon!!

Also, my mom has the best story of my dad coming out from being under for his wisdom teeth surgery in the 70s. It involves him running down the street, away from his brother (who was taking care of him and who is BIGGER than my dad)! Apparently, his brother would not let him have a cookie. I believe he cried over that. :-)

At least he had a good time for a little while before that painful dry socket! Poor Austin!

What a hike!

Ouch. Poor Austin.

I'm impressed that Austin and Chandler can share a sleeping bag. I think my sister would have rather slept on cold bare rocks than share a sleeping bag with me. (She always claimed that I would kick whenever we'd share a hotel bed.)

I am so impressed that Austin climbed Mt.Whitney. It looks spectacular. The pictures were quite amazing. !

What a fun video. Dick and I both had a good laugh. Golly, but he is a good looking kid! So sorry though that he had a dry socket. I have experienced one myself, so know how very painful it is. It's good though that he has this behind him and I hope he will be feeling better very soon.

The picture of Austin and Chandler is too cute. Did they sleep like that? As a mom it melts my heart! I really need to read your blog more often so it doesn't take so long to catch up. Your posts are great, all of them!

Look what happened last night
