What beautiful words of wisdom, and a treasure that they were written in a letter so you will always have them !! My mother is not the writing kind so I don't have any written words from her!! But Hill does now as she has written her letters on her mission even tho her hands are numb and she can't feel them most of the time !! Thanks for sharing and your family is beautiful every one !!
Jill, What a beautiful post! Your dad loved it. He is very tender about his family and especially your mom. She left an outstanding legacy for her posterity--very Christ-like with her priorities in the right place. This is a lovely tribute to her--in her own words. Love, Susan
I think your mom had it right. It's so nice that you have it in her own handwriting, too. I have several hand-written recipes from my own mom that I'll never type because it would lose something.
What a tender post! I love that you have a letter in your mother's handwriting, and I do believe your mother is right about what is important in this life! May you remember her on this day with fond memories!
Your mom was very wise with her words. What a very nice letter to you. I still remember the very first time I met her here in Salt Lake and how much she talked about you. She was very proud of you. I'm sure you do think about her every day! This was such a nice tribute. Thanks for sharing!
Such a beautiful tribute to a beautiful woman. And such a wise woman too. "When we leave this life all we are going to take with us is what we have given away." You were Blessed to have her, Jill. And she was Blessed to have you. The apple didn't fall far from the tree at all.
I love both pictures, and I can't get over how you didn't change all that much in over thirty years!
WOW! I started reading in earnest & by the time i finished, I had a tear in my eyes! Thank you for sharing especially since I was interested in hearing about the WHOLE day but will catch up with you when you get back! Where are you anyways? Love you.

And I love her note to you, too.

Happy Birthday Gaynor. She was a great lady. I loved what she wrote-so true.

What a beautiful tribute to your mom, Jill. I also loved seeing the pictures of you with your siblings. John is Julie's dad, right?
Thank you for sharing her letter. I believe her. My mother has been gone for eight plus years and I miss sorely miss her. xox
In that 2003 picture Peggy looks so much like you! Does she really resemble you that much?
Sweet words from "mama".
I would recognize that handwriting anywhere! Happy birthday Grandma!
What a good looking group of people!
Heather, you got it right, that's my dad. Can you see any resemblance?
