Goodbye Thanksgiving

Going through pictures, I found too many like this:
Tyler doing homework.
Not the homework part, but the cold part. There was much bundling up going on in our house. It wasn't until they all left that I realized everyone must have been cold. I am so so sorry I did not turn up the heat.

Before I go on I have to tell you about these olives.
Thanksgiving morn, Den was going to the store anyway so I asked him to get me a flat of olives or more,
so we could take advantage of the cheap holiday price.
When I looked in his bag I said, "What?? Only 4 cans?"
His response?, "I want to leave some for the other customers who will come in today."
He's a good man. I wouldn't have thought of that.

We saw lots of hand holding.

And thanks to a post recently by Grandmother Fairy
I feel differently about paper plates and company now.
(I used them occasionally before her post, but now I'm guilt free.)

The girls made amazing food and I wish I had thought to take pictures of all of it.
But I did capture Karen's relish plate!

McKenna and Karen scouting out the ads.

While their husbands were making other plans.

Little Téa stayed close to Mommy.
She wasn't sure about all the extra people.

Don't let the pictures below alarm you.
Hailey is just telling Elora a story, complete with theatrics.

I WON chocolate chip cookies from this great blog
I saved them so I could impress my kids!

A surprise visitor, Karen Mortensen, loving on Cami.

Dad and Susan stopped by on their way back from yet another cruise!

Lots of good times!

McKay and Tyler saying, "Here's to our mother, and our birth!"
The hardest part is saying goodbye because I really don't know when I will see them again.
THANK YOU for making the 24 hour round trip from Provo to California
I really am sorry our house was cold. I will do better next winter.

Good bye Pilgrims.

You have been with us since August,
but the time has come to put you back in your styrofoam for another 9 months.
You all scared Jonas, so he will be happy to come to Grandma Honey's next week and find you're all gone.
(The Pilgrims I mean, he loved the extra aunts and uncles.)

What awesome pictures. We like how you can make them BIG.

This post was like a visit with your family. We loved seeing all the goings-on in your house during the holiday.

We've enjoyed the little pilgrims. They're special because we don't see them all the time.

We're glad we got to see the boys and their wives. Sorry we took time away from games on TV--we were too excited about our adventure to know when to leave!!!

Love, Dad and Susan

I love Dennis' idea of saving some of the olives for other customers! I'm so happy you were able to have all of your boys and their wives home for the Thanksgiving weekend!! I love your Pilgrims!! Thanks for sharing! P.S. I'm glad the Provo kids left yesterday because we have another snowstorm today all the way from northern Utah to the southern end of the state.

Love the pictures, Jill! I wish I remembered to take pictures of events as well as you do! It's so fun to look back. Don't feel bad about the coldness of your house. This last week or two has been unusually cold and has taken us all off guard, I think. Time to stoke up the fires! (And put on the extra clothes!)

Love your pictures and stories...it's just like I was there! Glad you gave in to paper plates...i know it's hard, but worth it! And I think your kids are from Utah and used to being all snuggled up all the time...it's normal. Looks like a great time was had by all! And the olive story is so sweet...

Man, I LOVE YOUR BLOG! I spent a long time & now my legs & butt hurt from reading through all the posts I missed here at my mom's! It was so awrful not having internet for a week! Now I feel like I can live after reading all your wonderful posts!

Your boys are so dang CUTE & their wives are gorgeous & your grandkids the most INCREDIBLE. Dennis has ALWAYS been #1 with me & you of course are the deLIGHT in my world!

As for that post of your feelings in Nov & the tears when the leaves fall...JUST GO THERE. What's wrong with having a GREAT LIFE & KNOWING you 1st husband is OK & ALIVE yet you tear up & have all those feelings?

If I were talking to you about it, I would tell you. "BE OKAY with having those emotions & allow yourself that privilege."

I think I am in love with Lisa. I love what she said in the end. I need to remember that too. I think that would help a lot.

I loved this post as always. I love them all. It was so great finally getting to meet McKenna. She is soooo nice. It was like I had know her forever.

It was soooooo good to see you. You always make my day, week, year.

I am so impressed with all of your boys. They are awesome. Robin and I were talking about them as we left. Too bad you didn't have 4 more. The world could use good men like that.

Thanks for taking a picture of me with Cami. I just love her. I almost left with her.

I love seeing the photos of your celebration! It's fun for me to see Karen enjoying her time with family over the holiday. She and Tyler look great! As do the McK's. I'm thankful they have each other (the two couples): to play games with, have dinners with, and drive with - for hours in the car!

Wendy asked me to go to Costco today and pick up 10, 40 lb. bags of salt for the water softener. I followed Dennis good example and only brought home 4 out of concern for the other customers. Wendy isn't too happy with Dennis and his negative influence on me...but sometimes it pays to be a follower.

These pics are lots of fun, Jill.

And I always keep my house too cold, too...

Sweet post and I love the family photos! Such wonderful memories you'll have, and such wonderful memories you are helping to create for your family.

Ray likes it cold, so I am always looking for a sweater, or sweatshirt to put on, and I keep lots of throws around to wrap up in, especially in the evenings! BRRRRR!
Love and Prayers,
Eileen
