Day 2 and the reason we came here

I woke up to this and just knew it would be a great day.

This made me think of good marriages.
Like my cousin Kathy and her husband Richard.
Today we celebrated his 60th birthday,
and we were SO HAPPY to be a part of it.

It all took place at Kathy and Richard's house.

And right next door lives their daughter Amanda, her husband and their 3 sons.
I think this is a dream set up, to have grandchildren so close by.

Before I show you the party in the back yard, take a look at some of the CHARM inside Kathy's home.

Now back to the birthday boy, Richard.

Isn't this a sweet one of him holding his youngest daughter Brook ...

The Food!
Barbecue chicken, pilaf, beans, salad, and rolls.

The cake!

The Band!

My cousin Kristine with her husband Ron.
They have 4 married daughters, and almost 15 grandchildren!
To me, her husband looks as much like a Rozier as she does.

My cousins, Kathy and Kristine, together.
We three have plans after the holidays to get together and go through old pictures.
Kathy's Dad, Kristine's mom, and my Dad are all siblings.

A clip of the grandsons playing for their Papa.

Interesting how it seems to work in our family. Our babies are often all the same sex.
Kathy had all girls (3), and her oldest has all boys (3)
Kristine had all girls (4)
I had all boys (4)
My brother Richard had all girls (4)
...just to name a few.

Oh Jill, I can't believe you have already posted about Richard's birthday! I want a camera like yours! You take such fabulous photos and you tell such a wonderful story with the way you put your photos and your words together! Much thanks to you and Dennis for driving all this way to share in Richard's special day! Sorry to all the cousins I wasn't able to invite...but, Kris and Jill and Dennis you were a great representation of the Rozier clan that I love sooooo much!

That is amazing about having either all boys or all girls!
I love your family gatherings and celebrations, and I love how close you all are. I love most how Blessed you know that is.
Really looked like a great party, I'm sure you enjoyed it all!
And your cousin's home is charming! Thanks for sharing it, I felt like I was looking at photos from a magazine layout. Very beautiful and I love her style of decorating!
In fact, I called my husband over to look at the bedroom picture and said that's what I'd like to do too (he just rolled his eyes!), I'm always looking to do something new around here!

Thanks for sharing the 'Beaver quote', it's so true! And I feel that way too!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Safe trip home!
Love and Prayers,
Eileen

What a great post! The decorator in me (Susan) so loved seeing Kathy's house. She does indeed have a decorating sense that is clever and unique. Thanks for sharing her delightful talent.

Your dad loved seeing his nieces. He's glad you are keeping in touch.

Looks like a wonderful gathering and fun celebration.

We need to send you on the road more often!

Love, Dad and Susan

Loved the pictures. I think I could live in that bathroom - seriously.

I have to think that having all of one gender is quite lovely - and simpler.
