The Year My Son and I Were Born

Usually it takes me weeks to finish a book. I can't seem to sit still long enough. This book I read in a matter of days. I could hardly put it down, and on the other hand I wanted it to last longer so I tried to savor it and read it slow.

Kathryn Soper writes honestly, sometimes painfully so, and comes up with the most profound and thought provoking statements.

I probably cried in every chapter. It moved me that much. And parts of it were funny. Such is life.

I found this to be a very spiritual book.

Whatever you do, don't stop in the middle. You need to read the book to the end to see where her journey goes. Otherwise it might feel easy to judge this author.

Lots of thinking about life, and what it's really all about. What really matters. The best book I've read in a long time.

If you would like to borrow my copy you are welcome to it. As soon as Erin is done with it.

Speaking of Erin...look what she did for me last night.
Our tree had been sitting there for 5 days with no decorations, so she and Elora offered to put them on!
Love the way Elora has everyone lined up, including the animals, to see baby Jesus.

I want to borrow that book. I hope I can get through it okay because it seems like it would be too close to home. Let me know what Erin thinks of it.

The tree looks great. Can Erin and Elora come over to my house? We have had our tree longer than 5 days and it isn't decorated yet.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who puts off decorating the tree!

You want to know what's worse than having your tree up for a long time and not decorating it? Decorating it and not liking it, then taking everything off!!! That's what I did. I'd like to borrow the book. Your review did it for me!

Oh, and another thing. My tree is now decorated with only the Disney Ornaments and Red Apples, so the Disney ones are much easier to find this year. Any takers? All are welcome to come to use the check list to see if you can find them all. Put it on your list of fun things to do with kids.

I am going to have to read that book. My sister's little boy has downs and I love reading things like this. It helps me to relate more so that I can be more supportive of her. Thanks for the suggestion!

I bought it online a few years ago from Fisher Price.
