Do you see something unusual about this picture?

I have no idea who these people are....
This was in today's paper.
Which means this picture was taken yesterday.
Which means this baby was only hours old.
Yet she is smiling and looking at the camera! (or so it seems)

Even though we don't know the family above, this reminded me of the day my nephew Colt was born. He is 20 now and on his mission, but looking back, this is how he made the news:
Update on a post I did a few days ago.
Paul Cardall got his new heart this week!!

my favorite part about the story is how colt was not only born on friday the 13th, but he was also named after a gun.

That is unusual to see a baby just hours old...smiling. I love Friday the 13th...Nick was born that day in July of 1979 because my doctor was going to be out of town that weekend and I was ready, so he induced labor. He didn't quite make the 13th hour but was close. Thanks for sharing another fun post.

It's probably just gas. LOL! Isn't that how people always explain away smiling newborns? Personally, I think they're remembering heaven!

I like your theory Mary.

If I didn't know better I would think the picture is fake. It's like that baby is looking directly at the camera and smiling.

That baby does not look newborn.

I remember that article about Colt. I think I have it somewhere around here. My mom gave it to me.

Oh, Jill, thank you so much about that news on Paul Cardall! I am joining him and his family in prayers of Thanksgiving!
This is such happy news for my heart! Thanks so much for sharing this.
All the best,
Eileen

I know what you mean Karen, she does not look like a newborn. I was showing Elora the article and she noticed the baby's name is Avah. She said she really didn't like that name. Then she said, "We have a boy in our class named Wa. And his sister's name is Ca." Then she is quiet for a second and then says, "I think it has a nice ring to it." She keeps me entertained. :)

Eileen...I am so happy for the Cardalls too!!

Well, it would have been nice to see some type of picture of Colt. Your blogging fans have funny comments to share too.

As for Paul, that is INCREDIBLE news! I meant to tell you that your post that provided his blog link was something that i seriously needed to read when I was having a serious pity party. Shame on me after I read about his circumstances and his perspective of what life is like for him. It's amazing how we can "touch" each others lives like this and it's such a simple thing but the technology is mind boggling. Thanks!

I agree that the baby doesn't look like a newborn, especially with the smile. My youngest was born on Friday the 13th and my older two always tease her and say that she is mean because she was born on that day.

Look what happened last night
