Elora's '4th of July' Race

While we were all partying here over the 4th,
my granddaughter, Elora, ran in the Huntington Beach Fun Run. She looks so much like her Mom in the picture below...even the expression on her face.

Here she is already to go.
Grandpa Dale ran along side her!
Calling her Mom right after the race was finished.
Out of between 350-400 kids, she came in FIFTH!!!!!!!!!!
(3 of those who came in before her were BOYS.)

A tired Elora and GrandpaA random dog wanted to congratulate her.
Is it just my eyes, or is that dog wearing a skirt?
We are so proud of you Elora!
1/2 mile is a BIG run for a 6 year old!

What a memory she will have of her Grandpa Dale running beside her, as her support.

Thank you Grandma Lynn for the pictures!

More pictures soon of our 5 day weekend. Tyler and Karen just left this morning to head back to Provo.

Wow, I am impressed! Did she get an award? I've always disliked running, even as a child, so I really admire people who have the stamina and dedication to do these long runs.

I agree with Mary. That was pretty cool for her to be able to do that. What a great grandpa to do that with her. I guess she has some of grandpa Dick's blood in her too. Way to go Elora.

Congratulations, Elora! That's wonderful!
And I loved the picture with the dog! It looked like she (I'm assuming with a little skirt on it's a 'she') was hugging her too along with the kisses!

Nice post, Jill!
And thanks for your comments on my blog, it's so nice to know I am not alone in being the 'worry wart' all the time!

What a neat memory she'll have forever! That's really impressive. I can't imagine my 6-year old wanting to do it.

That's what good genetics will do for you! She apparently got good running genes from both sides!
