The answer to the economic crisis

Yesterday I was reading this magazine
I've always been fascinated with feng shui. I think in a round about way many of their home decorating ideas make sense.

But what do you think of this part of the article on feng shui in the March issue? So perhaps the economic crisis this country is facing, could be solved if we all just keep our bathroom doors shut.
Ya think?

Feng shui is loaded with superstition, as is the Asian culture in general. They also say one should always keep the toilet seat cover down (when not in use of course) because if you don't, something bad will happen. Way too superstitious for me!

Yup...that about answers all of our econ problems! Too many rules in Feng Shui for me.

I never knew all of this. We always leave our toilet seat cover down. But lately we have been thinking about leaving it up because of the mold that grows. You can't win can you? I have never heard of leaving your bathroom door shut. Wouldn't that smell? That is probably why they did so well. They didn't like staying home so they stayed at work longer. Ha Ha.

I never knew feng shui was superstitious thing. I like many of their ideas. This article though I read yesterday was a bit strange.

Really? Guess it couldn't hurt to try it! This reminds me of a funny story (true). When my brothers came to visit me during my 21 year alone period, they would leave the toilet seat up teasing me that they were helping me to think positively about having a man in my life. Well, I finally married and guess what? My Richard always puts both seats down. So, now I've been the one who had to change. I love it. Maybe that is why we are so blessed--because our toilet seats are closed! If I kept the bathroom doors closed also, I don't know if I could contain all the additional blessings. Love, Dad and Susan

You make me laugh Susan.
Actually, since I have lived with only males for the past 35 years, I would settle for just having the toilet seat down.

I don't think Feng Shui is superstitious at all! I think there is a lot to be said for having balance in all areas of your life. We all know that a different color paint or rearranging our furniture can bring new life into a room, whose to say that having it right from the start won't help us feel centered and ready to take on life's challenges. We all know that our home is a temple... feng shui is just about maxamizing that effect! Oh and I think keeping the bathroom door closed is good all around advice anyway!

We are just out of luck then...no bathroom door. Just an archway to the bathroom from our bedroom. Just a door on the toliet room. :)

A feng shui person told my son and daughter-in-law that if they didn't turn their laundry room into something else their relationsip would fall apart! In Asia, if a woman doesn't wear red shoes when she gets married, it is bad luck. I call that superstitious.

We consider it bad luck for the bride to be seen by the groom before the wedding! I think it is just culture...

Good point, Erin. I guess I just don't go for that kind of thing. (Steve DEFINITELY saw me before the wedding!)

I guess the idea is that if you leave the bathroom door open all of your profits go down the toilet.
L.O.L. Wonder if we'd just left the bathroom door shut if my husband would still have his job.
