Wendy

Back in 1973 when my brother Richard first started dating Wendy, he was also dating another girl, Jan.
I gave him my opinion.
I told him that Jan was a "There you are," person. And that Wendy was a, "Here I am," person.
I told him to stay with the "There you are."

So he tells Wendy this.
I was so embarrassed. She wasn't suppose to know I said that.

What I didn't realize then, but came to find out later, is Wendy is both a "There you are and Here I am" all rolled into one.

One day discussing this with me, she said, "I am a Here I am, There you are, so let's party."

She is fun to be with, fun to talk to. She is also fiercely loyal when anyone she loves is going through a hard time...she is THERE.

She's a cheer leader for just about everyone. Well everyone I can think of. She looks for the good, and talks that up, really talks that up. If there is something good, then there is something GOOD!!

We became mothers just 2 1/2 months apart.

Robin and Brock

Two years later we both were talking about having baby #2. So again, in 1979 we had babies 2 1/2 months apart. With my 2 sons, and her 2 daughters, we were living parallel lives in many respects.
We both went on to have 2 more babies.
Each time I would have a boy, and she would have a girl.
This was taken about 10 years ago I'm guessing.
Wendy says often to me, "I am so thankful to be a Rozier!."
She loves us all.
This past year has been very tough for Wendy, to say the least. With her oldest daughter's passing last April, she has been trying to deal with the grief. It has been very, very difficult, yet she still cares for others around her.

She happened to be with me the day I learned that my daughter in law Amy's In-vitro finally worked...after 2 unsuccessful tries. I was ecstatic! Wendy was ecstatic right along with me! She took me out to lunch to celebrate that day...AND went store to store trying to help me decide about family room furniture!

I wish you a Happy Birthday Wendy...
and thank you for being such a good sister in law to me
all through these years.

Jill, What a beautiful post! I love the pictures. I also love hearing about the early times of all your lives. Also, learning more about Wendy. I can see why Wendy likes being a Rozier--I do too. Although I haven't been one very long, I really love getting glimpses into the history of this great family. Happy Birthday Wendy. Love, Susan

Jill...you always do wonderful posts on your family. I can see where Wendy and Richard's girls get their beauty! And I'm sure that was a lot of fun for you and Wendy to be pregnant at the same time.

Please pass on a very happy birthday to Wendy for me. The photo at the top of this post is exactly the way Wendy looked when we met for the first time. I liked her immediately! She was such a kick. Nonie really liked her immediately too. I send all my love to Wendy and Richard for happier days. Life will never be the same without Robin but one day we will all be together. I take comfort in knowing that Nonie and Robin are waiting for us.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Thanks so much for this post Jill--I loved seeing the old photos and hearing about how you didn't like my mom when you first met her. (Just kidding)
